DreamForge Media is the brainchild of two designers: Vibeke Courtney and Mica
Stone. Their specialty is websites for authors, but with the help of their assistant, Holly, they frequently take on a
variety of projects.

Mica has written for Harlequin and Kensington, as well as BenBella Books and HCI True Vows. As Alison Kent, she is also the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Writing Erotic Romance.
"When I first began researching web designers and site ideas, I was overwhelmed--not
only with the variety offered, but with the realization that I would never find
anyone willing to put up with the nitpicking sort of changes I was going to want.
I would've been a web designer's worst nightmare. So I decided to tackle my own
site."
Mica feels that no matter the style, a client's site should be fun. She begins
with bright, vibrant colors, tailoring designs to her clients' individual vision
and personality, whether the theme is funky or refined, cheeky or chic.

Vibeke
kicked off her web design experience in 1997 with a personal site, and she enjoyed
the creative challenge so much that she soon began to take on other projects.
"My designs begin and end with a client’s expectations.
I make it a priority to build a website that looks and feels original, concentrating
on personality. I’m always searching for a unique twist, a look that sets
a design aside from the rest."
Bekke's designs range from elegant and formal to light and humorous,
but always, she works to capture the essential tone of her client's image. With
more than three dozen websites under her belt, she still feels that there's nothing
more important to her work than a happy client.

Holly created her own personal website, of very simple design, in 1999. Years of photography courses, speckled with other art and graphic design courses in school helped launch her creative side.
"Being self-taught has its flaws, but I think it allows for less of a technical or formulated view of design. It's easy for me to picture something in my mind and then make an attempt to re-create that in digital form."
While Holly is still a novice designer, she's an efficient and hard worker and is eager to learn more all the time. |
